Everyone loves catching a glimpse of real cowboys and cowgirls in action. You can do just that if you come out when the Greater Randolph Area Trail Riders come to visit Downtown San Marcos. A large herd of trail riders will make their way through the town to come compete at the rodeo and enjoy each other’s company.
When and Where
You can get a good look at the Greater Randolph Area Trail Riders on Feb. 5 from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. when they make their way through town. The riders can be found making their way to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. You can enjoy a good look at a wide variety of horses, riders, wagons, and more as they parade through town on their annual trip. Many stop off at different restaurants to enjoy a meal, and all are welcome at the Square, where peach cobbler made in a Dutch oven is served, free to all attendees. Bring the entire family, and you will feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo
While watching all the different riders and their horses, you will no doubt want to see more cowboy traditions. Why not make your way over to the rodeo and watch a few of the events, such as barrel racing, team penning, or bronc riding? The show takes place from Feb. 8–25, and it’s one of the biggest events of its kind. If you plan on going, make sure to grab your tickets in advance since this is a popular event and known to sell out.
What Else Is There for Entertainment?
