You Won’t Want To Miss The Chuy’s Christmas Parade In Austin

Parade

It’s easy to get caught up in your gift list during the holiday season and forget there are people who can’t afford to get presents for their kids. Fortunately, Austin has an annual Christmas tradition to remind people about those in need and to give them a way to help. It’s the Chuy’s Children Giving to Children Parade, and along with having cool floats, you get to bring an unwrapped gift to donate to a child in need. Do your part this holiday season by attending the parade on Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. It will start at the State Capitol in Austin and end in Cesar Chavez. Go out and get a toy, and then attend this heartwarming parade.

How It Works

On the surface, this is just your average holiday parade. There are floats, dance teams, marching bands, huge inflatable characters, and more. It has something a little special, though. Santa’s helpers walk with the parade and make stops along the route. Each time the helpers stop, they gather presents from onlookers.

The gifts all go to Operation Blue Santa. Operation Blue Santa is part of the Austin Police department. The department works hard to gather and distribute toys to the children in Austin who are in need. With your help, they can give even more presents to kids this year. Just imagine the smiles on those children’s faces when they wind up with presents under the tree.

Make It a Family Tradition

Many of the families in Austin, San Marcos, and beyond have made this Christmas parade a holiday tradition. They use it to teach their kids about helping others in need. They let their kids pick out a toy so they can feel like they are part of the process, and then, the kids hand the toys to Santa’s helpers. After you participate a time or two, your kids will be just as excited as you are. They will look forward to helping kids, and in doing so, they will make the world a better place.

This Christmas parade is just one of the events you’re going to attend this season. You will likely go to countless others, and you want your vehicle to be up to the challenge. Nissan of San Marcos in San Marcos, Texas, has just what you’re looking for when it comes to a new vehicle. Get your new ride, pick up a toy for a child in need, and head to the parade.
