Enjoy The Sights And Sounds Of Christmas

Sights And Sounds Of Christmas

Needing a little extra holiday cheer this season? Sights n’ Sounds of Christmas 2018 is coming back to San Marcos Plaza Park on Nov. 28 to Dec. 1 and Dec. 5 to 8. Last year, the festival expanded from a single weekend to two, and it’s doing the same this year. That means double the holiday cheer and fun. All the details haven’t been announced yet, but expect it to be similar to last year’s festival, where it was $5 for adults and free for anyone 12 and under. There will likely also be multi-day passes available if you intend to come often.

Gorgeous Sights

Let’s start with the sights. The lights here are absolutely amazing. The organizers recently expanded the laser light show, so you will get even more bang for your buck.

The Christmas tree is also unbelievable. It’s 70 feet tall, and it’s undergone some changes in recent years. it used to be an all-white tree, but now, it has a pop of color that makes the event even more gorgeous.

What’s That Sound? It’s the Jingle Bell 5k

The Jingle Bell 5k is one of the most popular events at Sights n’ Sounds Christmas. Everyone gets decked out in their favorite Christmas attire and takes off on the 5k. The best part has to do with the jingle bells, though. Racers put jingles on their feet, so when they take off, everyone knows. You don’t even have to be at the Sights and Sounds of Christmas to know it’s time for the Jingle Bell 5k.

Other Sounds

So, what about those other sounds? Well, you can hear Santa’s laugh right before he takes a picture with your kids, and then, there is the live music.

You know what the best sounds of Christmas are, though? The sounds of happy people. You will hear people ooh and aah over the lights and gush over the live nativity scene. You will hear the laughter of kids as they fly through the air on a carnival ride. You also hear the sounds of memories being made as families realize this is one of the best traditions in San Marcos.
